At the end of 2018, I was done posting regularly at Hip Diggs. And I am. However, I am going to continue to post, but only when I have something new to say about my own journey to live more simply.
I won’t be scheduling any posts out in advance as I used to. There will be no recycled listicles. There will be fewer how-to posts, unless it’s about something I’m currently working through. I’ll simply post about what’s happening in the moment.
A Note About the New Theme at Hip Diggs
So today, I’m just posting a quick note about the new look here at Hip Diggs.
You might have noticed that the entire look of the site changed a couple of weeks ago. Believe it or not, it was an unintentional change.
Here’s what happened…
I was updating WordPress on all of my blogs. For some reason there was a glitch at Hip Diggs after updating. The site was blank, nothing but the white screen of death.
So I started checking all of my plugins. Still, nothing but the white screen of death. I was about ready to give up when I decided to try a different theme. Bingo. It worked. For some reason the update had caused a problem with my old theme.
At first, I didn’t like the new look. I was only going to keep it until I could reload my old theme. But after a few days it grew on me. So for now, I’ll be keeping the WordPress TwentyNineteen theme. And it makes good sense.
Changing Seasons and a Tip of the Hat to the New
For me, life has always been about discovery. As one who is constantly looking for ways to simplify, I’m ready to try the new. And so it is today. I’m currently considering making some major changes in my life.
I’m in the process of getting my home ready to sell. I’m still a little hesitant and scared about what might be next, but I’m doing the prep in any event.
Selling one’s home is a bold move. It matches this new bold theme with the huge headlines. It’s minimalist, but it also stands out.
So the seasons are changing. When the theme went wacky, I changed it. I think that must have been a nudge that Hip Diggs needs a new look as we move into a new season.
