Taking a Week of Rest and Relaxation

It’s been a long summer already. Moving wore me out. I’m ready for a week off. We’ll be spending some time by the ocean for some much needed rest and relaxation.

In the past, I’ve posted about the importance of getting downtime. Here are a few posts to check out:

Rest and Relaxation in My Current World

I think the old posts cover a crapton of reasons for getting downtime in our lives. So read them. I’m going to take this opportunity to talk a bit about my own life, my own journey, and the future from where I stand today.

Operating two blogs is still more than enough. And my goal is to do just enough. The coming week will give me some time to contemplate where I’m going in my online journey and beyond. And I’m sorry to all you Hip Diggs fans, but I’m potentially sticking with my plan. I’ll be finishing up at Hip Diggs in a few months. Once I reach the 500-post mark, (this is post 489), I’m going to stop writing here. However, I will keep the blog open as a minimalism resource for some time to come.

Instead of writing here, I’ll continue my writing journey over at danerickson.net. I’ve explained my reasoning for this decision a couple of times, but here it goes again. My life isn’t only about minimalism. I want my blog to reflect a more balanced me. In fact, as I continue to write, I sense that I’ll be telling more stories and getting more philosophical while continuing to focus on simple living habits.

And So I’m Ocean Bound

So I’ll be heading to Oregon on Monday for some needed rest. Oh, one thing I might be doing while I’m there, is checking out some small condos and apartments for future options. Because the journey isn’t over, it’s just beginning again. Also, look for a post about the possibility of living the part-time van life over at danerickson.net in the near future.

I’ll update you all on the pros and cons of our new apartment life when I get back from the ocean. Until then, keep dreaming and take some time for rest and relaxation.
