New Music: The Minimalist Mixtape 2

I’ve spent the last few weeks finishing up another music project. It’s my pleasure to introduce The Minimalist Mixtape 2. The project includes 12 new electronic tracks.

In early 2017, I released The Minimalist Mixtape, my debut album of all-electronic minimalist music. Today, The Minimalist Mixtape 2 is now available for listening at SoundCloud.

This second effort makes an attempt to keep things minimal, but that doesn’t mean it’s quiet with only one or two instruments. In the classical music world, minimalist means,

a reductive style or school of modern music utilizing only simple sonorities, rhythms, and patterns, with minimal embellishment or orchestrational complexity, and characterized by protracted repetition of figurations, obsessive structural rigor, and often a pulsing, hypnotic effect.

Admittedly, this second mixtape is a little less minimalist than the first. Someday, I would like to create an intricate piece of pure minimalist music, but for now I’m still learning. I’m also experimenting with electronic sounds. Furthermore, I think this music is a little more listenable for the average person than pure minimalist pieces.

The Minimalist Mixtape 2 has replaced the acoustic piano with an electric piano. There are also more drums and beat-oriented songs than there are on the original mixtape. Things actually get a little funky at times. Here’s a list of the songs with links to each track:

Enjoy Life and Create Something Today

I’m not posting this to simply promote my own music. I also want to get a message out. We only get so much time on this planet. That means that if you want to create something, you need to do it. I get countless hours of enjoyment in the creation process. I encourage you to get creative today.
